Pendleton at a Glance
Pendleton is a town best known for its annual rodeo, the Pendleton
Round-Up. This event is hailed as one of the oldest and largest rodeos in
the United States and features a number
of attendent events, festivities and celebrations. The Westward
Ho! Parade is a non-motorized parade of oxen, mule, carts and buggies that
features local American Indians and marching bands. Featuring live music, dancing,
games and drinks, the Happy
Canyon Night Show is a popular entertainment event during the course of the
Round-Up. Attractions not related to the Round-Up include the Pendleton
Blanket Mill Tour, which offers tours of the facility where blankets were
woven for the American Indians in the 1800s. The Mills today still produce blankets
as well as sportswear for men and women. For younger travelers, the Children's
Museum of Eastern Oregon makes for an enjoyable diversion.
